THE PROCESS

The waister process extracts water from the wet food waste. This is possible due to the use of patented technology. The end product from waister is dry, energy rich, and both easy to store and handle.

The dry end product is ideal for biogas production, with a biogas potential about three times higher than wet food waste per kg. The process retains nitrogen and phosphorous in the dried product, making the digestate left after biogas production suitable as a fertilizer or soil amendment.

An alternative use of the end product is as a fuel in waste to energy plants or industrial incinerators. The calorific value of the dry product is about 70% of the calorific value of coal. handling is simplified due to the transformation to a dry, stable and bacteria free product. This gives both environmental as well as cost benefits.

Wet food waste handling is clean and odour free with the use of waister.
